The Rebel range is Honda’s one of the most recognized families and the 2017 generation Rebel models feature a complete overhaul. The makers have brought great improvements in performance and emission as the engine is reworked. Doing this also helps in competing with Harley-Davidson Street 500. 2017 Honda Rebel – Design
The original design of 1985 Honda Rebel is a reflection of the custom culture that was prevalent among cruise riders. The 1980s was the era in which low seat height, bobbed fenders and buckhorn handlebars were highly popular.
The Honda has brought out this classic styling of a small cruiser stance with a modern take. The 2017 Honda Rebel is a fusion of antique and modern as its chassis has a contemporary layout. One of the newest additions to design is the exposed frame members which have set a cut back look to the fuel tank.
Unlike the original model, this new Honda Rebel comes with a solo seat which is entirely different from the previously used two-up saddle. As Honda has borrowed design element from the sports bike realm, the transition seems to fit well as there’s nothing outrageous in the overall design.

2017 Honda Rebel – Engine Specifications
While Honda has used a parallel-twin four-stroke engine for both Rebel 300 and 500, the capacity, displacement, and output vary according to the models. The Rebel 300 uses a 286 cc engine that has its bore and stroke as 76 mm and 63 mm. Similarly, the Rebel 500 uses a 471 cc variant that has 67 mm bore and 66.8 mm stroke. The Rebel 300 offers 4 color options which include Matte Pearl White, Red, Black and Matte Silver Metallic. The Rebel 500 doesn’t offer Matte Pearl White and instead includes Bright Yellow. The starting price for 2017 Honda Rebel is put out as $4,399 for Rebel 300 and $5,999 for Rebel 500. The Honda hasn’t announced pricing for the ABS versions and is expected to be $500 more or so.
